Join us in the studios of WOTC radio as we broadcast the Charles Dickens classic tale of miserly curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge and his visit from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. An OTC original adaptation. Great fun for the whole family!
TOM BRAULT Tom was last seen on our stage as the Innkeeper in Man of La Mancha, and is honored to serve as Narrator for this holiday classic. Other roles here at the Brooks include Kris Kringle and the Ghost of Christmas Present / Mr. Fezziwig, proving that “there’s no place like OTC for the holidays!” Tom has also performed at the Moonlight, SDMT, New Village Arts, MiraCosta, Patio Playhouse and other area theaters. Happy Christmas to all … especially to his wonderful family – Linda, Gerilyn, and Robyn!
BOB HIMLIN is happy to be back at OTC after playing Padre in last season’s sold-out smash Man of La Mancha and Prince Carpenter in Foxfire. EDWARD HOWELL Edward is excited to reprise his role as Scrooge in OTC’s production of A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play for Oceanside Theatre Company. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Michigan State University and studied in the MFA program at the University of Louisville. Edward has appeared in community, collegiate and professional theatre, independent films, and commercials. His most recent role was as “Aegeon” in A Comedy of Errors at Shakespeare in the Vines in Temecula. Ed has also taught theatre classes and directed shows. He continues to thank his wife Leslie for her ongoing support of his theatre activities.
RENETTA LLOYD Renetta is thrilled to be returning to OTC for the second year of A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play. She was seen several years ago on this stage in The Boys Next Door. More recently she has often performed at the Broadway Theatre in Vista. When not in front of the curtain, Renetta is behind the scenes of several theatres in North County working as a costumer. She also designs custom costumes and fashion for special events. She thanks her wonderful family for always supporting her many artistic endeavors. Enjoy the show!
TARA SAMPSON is thrilled to return to OTC after appearing as Aldonza in last season’s critically-acclaimed Man of La Mancha. Previous credits include Ilona in She Loves Me (Scripps Ranch Theater), Daphne in Fly By Night (Coronado Playhouse), Shelley in Bat Boy (Ocean Beach Playhouse), Woman #2 in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Ocean Beach Playhouse). Tara would like to thank her husband and mother for their constant love and support.
Alex Tanner Alex is excited to be returning to OTC for A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play ! He is currently a student of the theatre at MiraCosta College, and his recent credits there include David Bliss in Hay Fever and Sir Oliver Surface in The School for Scandal. Being a lover of voice work, he is having a lot of fun in this production, and is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with a bunch of awesome people!
ROBIN THOMPSON is grateful to be joining OTC for A Christmas Carol. He has often played at the nearby Star Theatre, as Paul in Barefoot in the Park, Freddie in Noises Off, Gregor in Fools, Sam in A Few Good Men, and more. Other favorite credits include Sherlock Holmes in Baskerville (Scripps Ranch Theatre), Teddy in Arsenic and Old Lace (Welk Resort Theatre), Gillette in The Game’s Afoot, which he also directed, and Rochester in Jane Eyre (both at Escondido’s Grand Tea Room). CATALINA ZELLES is thrilled to return to the Brooks Theatre for OTC’s 2nd annual production of A Christmas Carol. She previously performed here in Miracle on 34th Street (Susan Walker)2016/17. TED LEIB – Director San Diego directing credits include Man of La Mancha, Foxfire, Same Time Next Year, Picnic, Boeing Boeing, A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play, and The Musical of Musicals for Oceanside Theatre Company, and She Loves Me, The Fantasticks, Foxfire, and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs for Scripps Ranch Theatre. In Orange County: Pirates of Penzance (STAGES theatre); Bug (Hunger Artists); Bus Stop (Vanguard); Forever Plaid and The 12 Plays of Christmas (Orange County Pavilion). Ted serves currently as artistic director for Oceanside Theatre Company.
MORGAN ZWONITZER – Stage Manager This is Morgan’s third show with SRT/OTC, previously ASM for Foxfire and Dancing Lessons during the Oceanside Run. He is a recent graduate of High Tech High North County. Morgan’s earlier work includes assistant directing Hir (Cygnet) and the role of The Kid in Queerspawn (Diversonary).
ZACHARY ELLIOTT – Scenic and Projection design graduated from MiraCosta College with an Associate’s Degree in Technical Theatre and is currently on staff as the Department’s paint charge artist as well as designing show for their stage and other theatres in the area. He has been involved with several shows at OTC, including the scenic painting and finishing for Deathtrap, as well as the artwork and scenic painting for OTC’s critically-acclaimed production of RED.
VIOLET CEJA – Sound designer recently graduated from MiraCosta College where she earned her degree in Design and Technology as well as Recording Arts Production. Her recent sound design credits include: Deathtrap (Oceanside Theatre Company); Outside Mullingar (OTC and Scripps Ranch Theatre), Season of Love (SRT); Madagascar, James and the Giant Peach (Moonlight Youth); Heaven Can Wait, and Waiting for Lefty (MiraCosta).
