Blues-rock guitar dynamo fearlessly blends rock, blues, R&B, & more. The first African American woman to win the category of “Best Guitarist” at the Austin Music Awards in 2019 and to host the awards in 2020, Jackie Venson is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Austin, Texas with five studio albums and four live albums. “The blistering guitar work, dynamic vocals, and upbeat loops are still very much present, but she’s sharper,” wrote Brian C. Parker of the Austin Times on her album Evolution of Joy (2023).

A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in 2011. Venson’s other studio albums include The Light In Me (2014), Joy (2019), Vintage Machine (2020) and Love Transcends (2021). Her four  live albums, Live at Strange Brew (2016) Live in Texas (2020), Jackie Venson Live at Austin City Limits and Joy Alive (2021).
