September 3 – October 22, 2021

There are actually three overlapping events! The first is the collaboration with the Oceanside Museum of Art to host A Breath of Fresh Air, a Plein Air (painted outdoors) art exhibition at the Brooks Theater Gallery. Juried entries are limited to members of the Museum’s Artist Alliance. The exhibition runs Sept 3 – Oct 22. I am asking each artist to share why they enjoy Plein Air painting and what would be their ultimate perfect place in the world to set up their easel and be inspired. Their answers will be posted next to their artwork.

The second event is the Artist Reception at the Brooks Theater Gallery on Friday, Sept. 3 from 6-8 pm. This is the same night as Oceanside’s First Friday Art Walk, which makes it nice for having Art Walkers drop by, view the collection, and meet the artists. Light refreshments will be served and Robert Parker, a true artist on the keyboard, will entertain on OTC’s grand piano in the Gallery.

The third event is the Gallery showing of the exhibition. Gallery hours will be every Sunday from 1-4 pm, beginning Sept 5 until Oct 17. Just as a side note, OTC’s Volunteer Coordinator has recruited a group of four volunteers to be OTC’s Volunteer Art Corps. These art lovers will help to cover the Gallery hours, assist with Art Walks, and help with art drop off at the Gallery and art pickup.

Art is always exciting, but I’m especially delighted to bring such a unique perspective of the outside world to art lovers everywhere.
