Artist Open House: Fiber Art


Explore the vibrant world of fiber art at our Artist Open House on August 8, from 5:30–8 pm at the Brooks Theater Gallery (217 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA). This special exhibit celebrates artists who spin, weave, stitch, and transform fabric and thread into imaginative works of art. Meet the artists, discover the stories woven into each piece, and see fiber art in new and surprising ways. Enjoy light refreshments, ambient music, watch a guest artist at work, and connect with fellow art lovers, neighbors, and creatives. All are welcome!

Artist Open House: Black Perspectives 2 & Miss Mary Grand Reveal


This very special Artist Open House is celebrating the opening of the BLACK PERSPECTIVE 2 exhibition in honor of Juneteenth. The exhibition was so popular and successful last year, that we are thrilled to have previous exhibitors and new POC artists sharing their vision of Black history, culture, family and community. Come meet the artists and discover the beauty and power of art from the black perspective.

In addition, noted pianist Robert Parker will “tickle the ivories” for everyone’s listening pleasure as visitors to the Gallery meet “Miss Mary”, an upright piano designed by artist BJ Lane as a visual celebration of theater and the performing arts and donated by the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation. Everyone is welcome to this free event between 5:30 and 8 pm.

Artist Open House: ON THIS ISLAND


Stop by the Brooks Theater Gallery between 5:30–8 PM for a mellow evening of art, conversation, and community. The Artist Open House on Friday, May 9th celebrates NHPI Heritage Month. The artwork in the ON THIS ISLAND exhibition showcases the rich culture, art, and heritage of Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, Tahiti and the many other Pacific Islands represented in the diverse communities of Oceanside.

Everyone of all ages is welcome to enjoy some tasty Island treats, watch a guest artist at work, chat with artists, and savor the amazing artwork. Drop in between 5:30 – 8 pm to this free event and discover the beauty of the Pacific Islands.

A Taste of Spring


We’re thrilled to be a stop in this year’s Taste of Spring, MainStreet Oceanside’s annual spring tasting and shopping event! Join us to explore the flavors of Downtown Oceanside with a springtime twist. This event supports local restaurants, retail businesses, breweries, wineries, and artisan makers—encouraging residents and visitors to eat and shop locally.

As part of this vibrant community celebration, OTC at the Brooks invites you to visit our stop at the historic Sunshine Brooks Theater. Experience our latest art exhibition, meet the team, and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of this seasonal event!

Tickets are available online from March 1 through April 19 at 3 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine, so gather the whole family and join us for an afternoon full of food, shopping, and community!

Join us for an evening of creativity on Friday, March 7, from 5:30 to 8 PM. Enjoy light refreshments and ambient music as you explore our new exhibition, Strength & Grace: The World of Sports. Meet a guest artist working on a new project, engage in conversations with fellow artists and visitors, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the gallery. This free event welcomes everyone—families, friends, tourists, and community members alike. Drop in or stay awhile to relax and enjoy the celebration of art and sports!

Artist Open House: OIFF – Ocean on My Mind


Discover the artists of the Oceanside International Film Festival! Connecting film art and visual art creates a deeper understanding of both the theme and the work of filmmakers. This event offers light refreshments, ambient music, an artist working on a current piece, and a Gallery filled with surf posters, photography and paintings that celebrate the theme. This event is free and everyone is welcome, including children, to drop in Friday, February 7th between 5:30 – 8 pm.

Artist Open House: By Land & By Sea


Discover the beauty of the natural world at By Land & By Sea, an Artist Open House on January 10, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Brooks Theater Gallery. This stunning exhibit showcases landscapes and seascapes that have inspired, delighted, and impressed artists from all corners of the globe. Meet the creators and gain insight into how these breathtaking natural sights have shaped their artistry. Enjoy light refreshments, ambient music, watch a guest artist create a piece live, and mingle with artists, families, locals, and art lovers. All are welcome.

Artist Open House: SPIRITED


Embrace the winter season at the SPIRITED Artist Open House on Friday, December 6, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Brooks Theater Gallery. Presented in collaboration with Oceanside Museum of Art’s Artist Alliance, this exhibit captures the winter spirit in all its forms—from festive holiday scenes to abstract expressions of warmth, joy, and nostalgia. Enjoy light refreshments, ambient music, watch a guest artist creating live, and mingle with artists, families, locals, and art lovers.
