Nerd Comedy New Year’s Eve

Ring in the New Year with laughter at a sharp, alcohol-free comedy show. Headlined by Brian Kiley and hosted by Tim X Lee, the theater welcomes a relaxed crowd ready to laugh with clear heads. Tim opens with his signature PowerPoint comedy, using clever slides to turn seemingly complex topics into instant punchlines, blending stand-up with science for relatable, visual humor.

Brian Kiley closes with his deadpan mastery, mining marriage, parenting, and midlife quirks for big laughs, supported by fresh acts on work-from-home mishaps and family traditions. It’s tight, funny, and over early—perfect for a sober, joyful start to the new year.

The Journey to Restore Oceanside’s Beaches and Build a Coastal Resilience Movement Film Screening

Co-hosts Resilient Cities Catalyst and Save Oceanside Sands are excited to host a documentary screening and interactive discussion that will explore the journey to restore Oceanside’s beaches and build a coastal resilience movement. With support from the Alumbra Innovations Foundation, RCC partnered with BBC and C40 Cities to develop a mini-documentary as part of their Transforming Cities series. The documentary explores Oceanside’s effort to address coastal erosion and beach degradation through a unique, community-driven Design Competition that resulted in the RE:BEACH Oceanside Pilot Project, which recently received a $1.8m grant from the California Coastal Commission and was designated SANDAG’s third Resilient Beach Sand Pilot (RBSPIII) project.

Following the screenings, there will be an interactive discussion of the continued efforts for coastal resilience and what’s next for the City of Oceanside. Speakers include Coastal Zone Administrator Jayme Timberlake of the City of Oceanside, Bob Ashton, Executive Director of Save Oceanside Sands (SOS), Darbi Berry, Director of San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative (SDRCC), and Sam Carter, Founding Principal of Resilient Cities Catalyst (RCC) as moderator.
