Level 1 Tap Class

Have you always wanted to tap dance? In our tap class, taught by Lindy Lyon, we will work on the fundamentals of tap dance in the feet and in the body. Each week, students will build on the skills learned the previous week as we broaden our step vocabulary. Students will also learn about major figures and influences in tap dance history. Students will hone their tap skills with an emphasis on musicality, technique, and playfulness as they learn a dance. The Level 1 tap class is a great opportunity for beginners and returning tap dancers alike.

Level 2 Tap Class
Tuesdays, September 2 – October 21
9:30 am – 11 am

About the Instructor
Lindy Lyon is a spirited and passionate Dancer, Choreographer, and Instructor. As a B.F.A. graduate of Colorado Mesa University, she is trained in Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Ballet, Contemporary, and more. Her pieces have been adjudicated and featured in concerts and festivals across the country, and she has performed with Legoland California and Jingle Beat Nashville. Lyon contributed choreography to Oceanside Theatre Company’s The Little Mermaid this past fall, and she looks forward to working on more musical productions in the near future. Lyon loves to share the joy of dance with people of all experience levels, and she believes in making dance accessible for all.

Improv Comedy for Kids
Tuesdays, September 2 – October 7
4 PM – 5 PM
$130 for 6 weeks
An introductory improv class for ages 8-13 that allows students to have fun learning the skill of improv. Through icebreakers, games, scenes. and short-form, the students will learn how to think on their feet while understanding how to respect each other’s contributions on stage. We will build on the lessons each week, with potentially performing for the parents on the last class which is October 7, 2025. Taught by Jason Russo.
About the Instructor
Jason Russo has been an active performing artist for close to 30 years, and has worked in PA, NYC, Los Angeles, and Oceanside. A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, Russo has had extensive training in scene study, theatre history, dance and movement, voice and speech, improv, Shakespeare, and the Meisner Technique.
