Featured Artists
Diego Chamorro (He/Him)
Positivo & Negativo
Born into an artist family in Colombia, Diego Chamorro, aka Perrofromhell, is a multidisciplinary painter whose work explores identity, memory, and transformation. Using acrylic, mixed media, and a signature technique involving three light sources—daylight, black light, and darkness—their bold creations bring rich narratives to life, infusing each piece with emotional depth through texture and color.
Cheryl Price (She/Her)
The Cyborgs
Cheryl Price spent 33 years in banking and retired in 2009. Activities thereafter included choral singing, tutoring reading skills to elementary school children, acting in community theater, and participation in Oasis classes specifically developed for seniors. It was only after attending photography classes that a passion for this discipline took hold. Seeing life through the lens has stimulated her love of the moment and spiritual connections. She presents her work to her audience as an homage to life on this plane with a view to the universal.
Eva Shaw (She/Her)
They Are Watching
Eva Shaw, Ph.D., is self-taught and came into the art world after surviving breast cancer. She’s happiest when encouraging the love of art to those who may not traditionally think that art is for them. “If my art makes someone smile or laugh, I’m honored. That’s my goal.” Eva is a much-published author and her most recent books are the Beatrix Patterson mystery series: The Seer, The Finder, The Pursuer and the forthcoming The Conductor (2025). She is a university professor, ghostwriter, avid gardener and passionate volunteer with her church, in the community, and the American Cancer Society, Border Compassion, Days for Girls International, Welsh Terrier Rescue and other causes.
Laurie Batter (She/Her)
The Wonder of New Dimensions
Laurie Batter was always creating art as a child and teenager. She had good fortune to be born into a family who encouraged her creativity, and a grade school program that exposed her to the Masters and a college degree in Art History. After a 40-year hiatus from art while she ran her boutique PR & Marketing firm, and the surprise blessing of the Pandemic, she has renewed her connection to art, creating through multiple mediums and subjects. Her home studio is chock full of colorful paints, and every art supply you could dream about. She actively explores her creativity through classes at Mira Costa College, plus several renowned workshops including Nicholas Wilton’s Art2Life Creative Visioning Program (CVP), Art2Life Spark, and Jenny Nelson. Laurie is a member of AGNC (Artist Group of North County) and the Oceanside Museum of Art Artist Alliance. Her work is collected by art lovers around the U.S. and the UK. Cherrie Anderson (She/Her)
Close Encounters
Cherrie Anderson is a photographic artist who began to study photography seriously when she retired from interior design in Washington DC and moved to San Diego. Her photographic process encourages her to see the world from unconventional viewpoints. As a family caregiver, she has no time for planned photo shoots. She shoots whatever catches her eye, wherever she is. Post production is like a meditation that calms and centers her. Cherrie believes that color is a nutrient, and finds it healing to transform her images with brilliant color. She hopes that in a small way her artwork may bring beauty and healing to others.
Betty Theel (She/Her)
Cosmic Swirl
A former domestic and international flight attendant and then, inside and outside sales representative, Betty Theel (nick name “OB”), started wire wrapping seashells and semi-precious stones after a 2008 layoff from corporate America. She had designed jewelry and clothing for fun on and off for thirty plus years, using vintage lace and jewelry pieces. Then, with a love for all things antique and vintage she carried that love onto what she calls “Framed Glass Art”. She hand picks vintage crystal items and other interesting smalls wherever she can find them and creates one-of-a-kind art pieces on vintage and upcycled frames and windows. She sells at occasional craft fairs and friend’s homes, but mainly from her home studio.
