A haunting adaptation of Stephen King’s classic tale, Carrie follows a desperate teenage outcast bullied at school and dominated at home by a devout, controlling mother. When Carrie discovers she possesses terrifying telekinetic powers, the pressure builds to a moment of devastating release.
Set in modern-day Chamberlain, Maine, this version of Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, music by Oscar-winner Michael Gore, and lyrics by Academy Award-winner Dean Pitchford. The 2012 Off-Broadway revival, which reimagined the piece with a leaner, more emotionally grounded script, won the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical Revival.
Powerful. Terrifying. Cathartic. Carrie: The Musical will be a dark, unforgettable semi-immersive experience!
Content Disclaimer: Carrie the Musical contains mature subject matter that may be activating for some audience members and is intended for mature audiences. The productionincludes depictions of bullying, religious extremism, homophobic slurs, violence, and death, as well as discussions of menstruation, and group violence in a school setting.
