DEAD MOOSE – World Premiere!
January 24 – February 1, 2026

Book, Music & Lyrics by Tyler Tafolla
Directed by Tyler Tafolla

Musical Direction by Van Angelo

Choreography by Chloe Chenfeld

OTC at the Brooks presents the world premiere of Dead Moose! Dead Moose tells the story of Job, an eighteen-year-old who miraculously survives a car accident with a moose. Returning home from the hospital, he begins to reassess his life in a series of non-linear vignettes — grappling with questions of death, fate, and religion. All the while, the nagging voice of the dead moose lingers in his head, pushing and provoking him at every turn.

Originally conceived by writer/composer Tafolla while attending AMDA Los Angeles, Dead Moose first introduced audiences to its songs in 2018 at Republic of Pie in Los Angeles. A concert reading was later staged in January 2025 at the City Heights Performance Annex in San Diego, directed by Tafolla and produced by Kevin “Blax” Burroughs.

Content Disclaimer: Dead Moose is not recommended for audiences under the age of 14. Content includes themes of suicide, abuse, death, religious trauma, body shaming, homophobia and racism. This production contains flashing lights and projections, haze and loud music.

THE ELABORATE ENTRANCE OF CHAD DEITY

MARCH 14 – 29, 2026

Written by Kristoffer Diaz
Co-Directed By Kevin “Blax” Burroughs and Durwood Murray Jr.

The explosive The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity body slams its way into the world of professional wrestling, where larger-than-life personas and real-world politics collide. At the heart of the story is Macedonio “Mace” Guerra, a lifelong wrestling fan turned “jobber,” paid to lose in the ring to make the bigger stars look good. But when Mace teams up with Vigneshwar Paduar, a fast-talking Brooklynite of Indian descent, the wrestling execs craft a controversial narrative, casting them as “terrorists.” Mace and Vigneshwar, however, are determined to flip the script—pushing their characters to the extreme to expose the unspoken racism and deep-rooted politics within the industry.

Winner of the 2011 Obie Award for Best New American Play, the 2008 National Latino Playwriting Award, and a finalist for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity is a high-octane, thought-provoking satire that leaves everything on the mat, delivering a powerful punch of humor, courage, and social commentary.

Content Disclaimer: The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity contains mature subject matter that may be activating for some audience members. This play uses strong language, simulated violence/fighting, racial stereotypes, flashing lights and haze effects.

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
MAY 30 – JUNE 14, 2026

Music & Lyrics by William Finn
Book by Rachel Sheinkin
Conceived by Rebecca Feldman
Additional Material by Jay Reiss

Direction & Choreography by Melissa Glasgow
Musical Direction by Richard Dueñez Morrison

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee takes us on a journey with an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents as they participate in the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.”

Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.

Content Disclaimer: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is not recommended for audiences under the age of 13. Content includes mature themes, adult language, sexual innuendos, and sensitive discussions about family, anxiety, puberty.

CARRIE THE MUSICAL
OCTOBER 17 – NOVEMBER 1, 2026

Music by Michael Gore
Lyrics by Dean Pitchford
Book by Lawrence D. Cohen
Based on the novel by Stephen King

Directed and Choreographed by Kevin “Blax” Burroughs
Musical Direction by Benjamin Goniea

A haunting adaptation of Stephen King’s classic tale, Carrie follows a desperate teenage outcast bullied at school and dominated at home by a devout, controlling mother. When Carrie discovers she possesses terrifying telekinetic powers, the pressure builds to a moment of devastating release.

Set in modern-day Chamberlain, Maine, this version of Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, music by Oscar-winner Michael Gore, and lyrics by Academy Award-winner Dean Pitchford. The 2012 Off-Broadway revival, which reimagined the piece with a leaner, more emotionally grounded script, won the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical Revival.

Powerful. Terrifying. Cathartic. Carrie: The Musical is a dark, unforgettable theater experience you won’t soon forget.

Content Disclaimer: Carrie the Musical contains mature subject matter that may be activating for some audience members and is intended for mature audiences. The production includes depictions of bullying, religious extremism, homophobic slurs, violence, and death, as well as discussions of menstruation, and group violence in a school setting. Strobe-like lighting effects, haze & fake blood will be used during this production.
