A Night of Musical Improv Comedy brings two San Diego musical improv teams to OTC’s 219 for a night of unscripted songs and laughter.
Opening the show, The Musical Improv Project delivers their fun brand of musical improv games, turning audience suggestions into catchy tunes that will stick in your head for days and keep you laughing all night.
Headlining is the return of crowd favorite Basic Pitches. With a single audience suggestion, they create a fully improvised musical experience that will delight your ears—or at least make you laugh. Celebrate the talents of the Mission Elementary Drama Club as 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders perform scenes from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s works and other beloved stories. This showcase is presented in partnership with OUSD, Oceanside Theatre Company, and teaching artist Jason Russo.

Join us for a fun journey of laughter, spontaneity and endless possibilities as we explore the fundamentals of improv in a supportive environment. Students will learn the fundamentals of improv through a series of engaging exercises, games, and scene work as each week builds on what was learned the previous week. We will focus on building trust, sharpening listening skills, gaining confidence to think creatively in the moment, the concept of Yes And…, and so much more. Not only will you have a ton of fun, you will build self-confidence, soft business skills, and meet new people! Taught by Stacey Willard.

NCIS: North County Improv Squad presents a fun night of improv comedy similar to what you would see on “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Everything is made up completely on the spot based on audience suggestions. It is a truly fun way to spend your evening. PG13

Have you always wanted to tap dance? In our Tap Workshop, taught by Lindy Lyon, we will work on the fundamentals of tap dance in the feet and in the body. Each week, students will build on the skills learned the previous week as we broaden our step vocabulary. Students will also learn about major figures and influences in tap dance history. Students will hone their tap skills with an emphasis on musicality, technique, and playfulness as they learn a dance. The Adult Tap Workshop is a great opportunity for beginners and returning tap dancers alike.
