Improv Comedy for Kids

Improv Comedy for Kids ages 8-12, with a minimum of 6 students, and maximum of 10. This is an introductory course that allows students to have fun learning the skill of improv. Through icebreakers, games, scenes. and short-form, the students will learn how to think on their feet while understanding how to respect each other’s contributions on stage. We will build on the lessons each week, with potentially performing for the parents on the last class. Six week class runs April 30 – June 18, with no class on May 14 or June 11.

Improv Comedy For Teens

Teens can now connect, and unleash their inner creativity on a fun journey of laughter, spontaneity and endless possibilities as they learn Improv Comedy in an extremely supportive environment. Students will learn the fundamentals of improv through a series of engaging exercises, games, and scene work as each week builds on what was learned the previous week. It is a great opportunity to connect, learn invaluable communication skills and teamwork. April 27-June 8, Tuesdays, 12:30-2:30 pm, Ages 12-17. Taught by Jacob Reiss.

Next to Normal – Industry Night

 

Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, Next to Normal, written by Brian Yorkey with music by Tom Kitt, introduces audiences to a seemingly typical American family. In this production directed by Frankie Errington with muscial direction by Lyndon Pugeda May 10 through May 26, the dad heads off to work as an architect, the mom prepares breakfast and lunch for the family, and the teenagers crack jokes at their parents’ expense. However, as the lights begins to shine onto their lives, the truth is illuminated, revealing the shadows of the mother’s 16-year battle with bipolar disorder and the roles each family member has had to play. Next to Normal tells a story of hope, love, and learning to let go.

The Rockin’ Revival – Featuring Anthony Cullins & The Farmers

The Rockin’ Revival is a mini rock festival celebrating 4 of San Diego’s most iconic rock performers including The Band of Gringos, The Tighten Ups, The Anthony Cullins Band, along with San Diego legends The Farmers

The Rockin’ Revival evening show will feature SDMA award winners Anthony Cullins and San Diego legends The Farmers!

Food (BBQ) will be sold from 5-9 pm and other musical acts (solo/duo) will perform in the lobby and studio.

Each band will perform a 75 minute power set! The Rockin’ Revival will have other live acts in the lobby and studio along with excellent BBQ (5-8 PM) and dining seating in the studio. This is a seated show. Everyone is welcome (all ages.)

Please note, to attend the night show you must buy a separate ticket.
