Unique Artist Opportunity from Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) and the Brooks Theater Gallery
The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) has gifted Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) with “Miss Mary” an excellent upright piano for the lobby of the Sunshine Brooks Theatrer. This is only one of numerous pianos being placed throughout the City as live public art, giving people easy access to a piano to play for themselves or others.
OCAF’s donation to OTC includes an Artist commission, transportation of the piano to the artist’s studio and then to the theater, installation of wheels for easy handling, and piano tuning.
Submission Details
Artists are asked to submit their ideas for transforming the black piano with art that reflects “theatre and the performing arts”.
Submissions will be judged on:
- Artistic technique
- Use of space and composition on the piano (24″ D x 58″ W, 45″ H)
- Interpretation of the theme
- Durability of materials used
- Unique, exciting, expressive art that captures the eye and the heart
