Artist Open House at the Brooks Theater Gallery
A free event open to artists, families, art lovers and supporters, as well as the general public, the Artist Open House features live music, an artist working in the Gallery on their current art piece, refreshments, and a concessions bar open for purchasing beer and wine.Ā
As part of a new direction for the Gallery, the Artist Open House will be offered year-round at the beginning of each new Gallery exhibition at the Brooks Theater Gallery, located in the historic downtown Oceanside Sunshine Brooks Theater. While as a unique venue whose mission is to create a visual energy and connection with the live performances produced and hosted by the Oceanside Theater Company (OTC) on the Main Stage, the Brooks Gallery has long served as a favorite gallery for numerous local artists, previously the Gallery limited artist events to Oceansideās First Friday Artwalks.
With this new approach, Alex Goodman, the Managing Director for OTC, and Carol Naegele, Gallery Curator, aim to make the Brooks Theater Gallery a respected art destination of the San Diego County art world.Ā
For more information about the Artist Open House, to be added to our Artist Mailing List, or to volunteer to play music at the next artist opening, please contact Gallery Curator Carol Naegele at cnaegele@oceansidetheatre.org.Ā

Brooks Theater Gallery
The Brooks Theater Gallery in downtown Oceanside is rather unique in that the Gallery is located in a very busy and successful performing arts theater offering plays, musicals, dance, concerts, and community events. The artwork is seen by performers, audience members, students, Camp Pendleton Marines, tourists, community members, art lovers, and more. I believe the synergy between visual art and performing art creates a memorable experience for both the art lover and the theatergoer.
Brooks Theater Gallery FAQ
How can I participate? Interested artists can email Carol Naegele at cnaegele@oceansidetheatre.org (note spelling) and attach images of the pieces they would like to submit. social media link. The forms should be filled out and brought along when the art pieces are dropped off at the theater. The link will take you to a social media form to fill out and submit. A $10 cash/check entry fee per artist is due at time of drop off.
What if I canāt make the drop off date/time? Artists will need to find someone else to bring/pick up their art if they are unable to do so on the scheduled date/time. Alternate days or times cannot be scheduled.

reserved out front for loading and unloading.
